The great Roberto Clemente said, “Any time you have an opportunity to make a difference in this world and you don’t, then you are wasting your time on Earth.” Philip is thankful to be a trial attorney — a role that offers meaningful opportunities to make a real difference in people’s lives.
It means standing up for those who deserve justice but often feel powerless against large corporations, insurance companies, and institutions with nearly limitless resources. Being a trial attorney at Whitley Law Firm is about more than winning cases; it’s giving a voice to the vulnerable and restoring dignity to those whose lives have been upended through no fault of their own. As the managing attorney of Whitley Law Firm, Philip finds deep fulfillment in leading a talented team of attorneys united by The Whitley Advantage — delivering fierce client advocacy, protecting their clients’ rights, and easing their legal burdens with compassion and efficiency.
Philip obtained his Juris Doctor from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology along with a minor in Psychology from North Carolina State University.
Philip has earned an AV Preeminent® rating, the highest peer rating for ethical standards and professional ability. He has also contributed to the legal field through Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentations and has been involved in cases resulting in published opinions. For the past 25+ years, Philip has taught elementary and middle-school aged children about our US legal system and US Constitutional principles. His students perform a mock trial where they put the ‘Big Bad Wolf’ on the stand for ‘harming the Straw & Stick Pigs’.
