Ryan is a litigation attorney at the firm’s Raleigh office where he focuses on a broad range of personal injury cases—from car accidents to complex toxic tort litigation. Ryan was drawn to work as a personal injury attorney out of a strong desire to fight for the underdog. As a first-generation college graduate, law school graduate, and attorney, he instantly gravitated to an area of the law where he could advocate for normal people who need help through a difficult and complex process like the civil justice system.
Ryan completed his undergraduate studies at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He then graduated from U.S. Army Ranger School and served as an active-duty infantry officer for five years. Fort Bragg is what initially brought Ryan to North Carolina, as he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in Fayetteville, NC. Ryan deployed to Iraq with the 82nd, served as a platoon leader in The Old Guard in Arlington, VA, and got out of the Army shortly thereafter.
After the Army, Ryan attended law school at Campbell University. There he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, a teaching scholar in the school’s civil procedure courses, and graduated in the top 10 of his class.
Since graduating law school and passing the bar exam, Ryan has had the opportunity to help personal injury clients through their cases in a variety of settings. From low-impact car accidents to medical malpractice, catastrophic 18-wheeler crashes, and wrongful death claims—Ryan has resolved hundreds of cases for his clients. Ryan also has experience as a first-chair trial lawyer and enjoys the opportunity to prove his client’s case in court.
