Although the other driver was cited by police for failing to obey the stop sign, the defendant strongly contested the claim by the victim for damages, however, both parties agreed to early mediation in order to decrease the amount of legal fees and other expenses that drawn-out litigation would have cost.
The early settlement also ensures that the victim can now receive physical therapy that is mandatory for his recovery. He was unable to pursue that course of treatment because he no longer has medical insurance and could not afford to pay for the therapy.
