Wake County’s Salvation Army works to give back to our community year round, especially during the holiday season. Their goal is to ensure that the season of giving is extended to all, regardless of their current situation. Due to COVID-19, there has been an increase in the number of struggling families. That’s why Whitley Law Firm helped to promote the Salvation Army’s Holiday Meals Food Drive. All donations that were made to our campaign went to families for Thanksgiving so that everyone who was in need of food was able to take home a meal basket.

Our team’s donation to the Salvation Army of Wake County took place on November 24th where we delivered food purchased from grocery stores! We had baskets for donations located in our Raleigh, NC office from October 13th until November 23rd.

For individuals who were not comfortable donating in person, our team also started a virtual donation drive for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. Their network expands over 800 partner agencies and helps feed 600,000 people in 34 counties across the state.

From everyone’s help with the virtual campaign, we were able to meet our goal of $500 to Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina in addition to physical food donations that went to the Salvation Army’s Holiday Meals Food Drive.

We could not have done this without the help of our community, whether it was donating to our virtual campaign, bringing canned goods into our office, or simply sharing a post on social media to raise awareness about our project. Every bit counts, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts from everyone at Whitley Law Firm.
